K.C.'s Graduation

Date: Saturday, 15 June 2002

Location: University of Washington - Husky Stadium

Degree: Bachlor's of Communications

So here are the pictures from my graduation. In attendance to support me were my parents, brother, fiance Andrew, and roomie Zanne. So sit back and enjoy the short story that I will present to you.

The day started early. My parents arrived around 11am and we got to the stadium around 11:30.

Pic 1: Zanne straightening my gown. - Pic 2: We're suppose to all be looking at the camera.

We then went our separate ways. I had to walk around to the other side of the stadium and they had to wait at a gate somewhere. My picture was taken for security reasons and around noon they let us into this little room. Stood around in crowded lines till 1:30pm until the procession started.

Pic 3a: Emplty chairs, soon to be filled with lots of people. I ended up in the center column, second section back about 3 rows in. That would be near the edge of the right hand rail on the camera stand.

Pic 3b: Master's Candidates filing in.

Pic 4: Bachlor's Candidates filing in.

Pic 5: Unfortunately I am over here. Oh, Well.

We all sat down and one of the Music School Bachlor's Cadidate sang the national anthum. She did a really awsome job.

Pic 6: Here is me.

Pic 7: Here are my mon, Zanne, Andrew, and Mike.

Two of the speakers were Mr. McCormick, the President of UW and some lady whom I can't remember the name of ^^;; I do remember she use to be the Secretary of State. I'll post her name later. The reason I mention her is that there was a huge controversy over her being awarded a honorary diploma. Some students stood up and turned there backs to her for her whole speach. Apparently she ordered an attack or bombing that killed children. I don't know exactly what it was about.

Pic 8: Here is me again.

After a few hours of people talking we were finally allowed to get up and receive our diploma cases. This is the side opposite of me but it convays the same thing. My mom just wanted a picture of the guy with long red hair. Its the same color as mine and Mike's.

So then the whole thing ended around 5pm. I found out later that I had a lovely sun burn on my face. And of course since I was wearing a cap I have this odd V shaped line on my forehead separating burn from white. So here are the pics from after the ceremony.

Pic 12: Such a happy group pic. Looks like my mom is going to cry and Zanne must be checking some one out to the right. And I just decided to take a short nap.

Pic 13: This time with Dad. What the hell is Zanne looking at?

Pic 14: Nobody told us they were taking a picture. Mike is just looking on as I am flirting with Andrew. Andrew looks a little lost and Zanne is discusted with the piece of paper that they give you in place of your diploma.

Pic 15: You think I could get ONE good picture. What is with Andrew's face? I love you hon but your right - you are not photogenic.

After graduation we went out to Moon Temple Resturant and had dinner before heading home. Thanks to everyone who supported me through college. Now I only have summer quarter left and I'm finished. Yay!
