Character Information:
Name: Chris Lightfellow
Age: 22 in the game, 26 in the AT RPG
Birthplace: Vinay del Zexay
Weapon: Sword
Runes: I believe in your story she has True Water, right? So, True Water and Phoenix
Eyes: Violet
Hair color and style: Silver from a distance, platinum-white blonde if you're allowed to get close enough to see for sure. She wears it up in plaits when marching into battle, and either in a loose braid or long and straight otherwise.
Occupation: Captain of the Zexen Knights
Marital status: Single
Relatives and/or close friends:
Daughter of Wyatt and Anna Lightfellow (both assumed dead) No living relatives, but her closest friends are her lieutenants, the other five of the "Six Mighty Knights." Allow me to run them down:
*Borus--The hotheaded, swordsman who sees himself as Chris's protector. She is not oblivious to his pathetic advances, but rather not all that interested at the moment. She enjoys his company when he's keeping a cool head, but his smothering bothers her.
*Percival--He's poor Borus's foil; always the one that uses his charm and wit first and his sword second. Chris enjoys his company (much to the dismay of Borus) but she knows the two of them are good friends. She disapproves of Percival's "encouragement" of Louis on certain behaviors, but still respects him as one of her greatest friends (IMHO...If Chris were to marry one of her knights, it would probably be Percy. However, I'm open to anything in the RPG...that was just a premise I used in a fic)
*Salome--Salome is one of those characters that never gets his just due. He's the brains of the Zexen Knights, and was the first to pledge his life to Chris (Manga, Vol 1) on the battlefield when Galahad was killed. He's a gentle and kind man, who reaches out to Chris even when the others don't accept her right off (Manga, Vol 1) He serves as Chris's confidant, and the respect she holds for him is apparent many times in the game, but especially when he "covers" for her as she rides off to search for the Flame Champion. (Chris Ch2) Perhaps he doesn’t have the best haircut, but without him, Chris and the rest of her knights would be lost.
*Roland--The ever-loyal elf-knight who is often silent, still sometimes takes it upon himself to speak up for Chris. (Chris Ch1) Like the others, he would gladly lay down his life for her, but their relationship is strictly professional...it's not that she doesn't like to talk to him, it's just that he always seems so distant.
*Leo--Every group must have an axe-wielding big guy, and Leo is it for the Zexens. He isn't charming like Percy, he isn't smart like Salome, but he cares for Chris. He also takes it upon himself to be sure of her safety, since he blames himself for the death of Galahad. (Manga, Vol 1)
*Louis--In the game, Louis is Chris's attendant, but she's more like a big sister to him. When Wyatt disappeared, Louis's father took Chris in, and in exchange for his kindness, she agreed to train his youngest son. Chris always looks out for Louis, but she doesn't like the habits he learns from Percival. (I'm a Louis-fangirl...^^)
Appearance: Chris's looks are striking. She's average height, and has a curvy build, but between her silver hair and violet eyes, she is very exotic looking. Most would call her beautiful, even in her most angry moments.
Personality: Chris is bound to duty, as any knight would be, but she values her honor and the lives of her men, too. She is a strong warrior, a charismatic leader, and true knight, but she needs to learn the ways of the world, too.
Personal history:
Childhood:
Chris was born to Anna and Wyatt Lightfellow, two rather well off folks in Vinay del Zexay. Her mother died when she was very little, and her father disappeared soon after. At five years old, she was taken in by Lord Keeferson and raised among his seven boys. When she was thirteen (Manga, Vol 1) she enrolled in the Zexen Military Academy, and swore to uphold her family's name.
Many teased her for this decision, some even suggesting that she couldn't be a warrior because she was "just a girl." Still, she persevered, and at sixteen, graduated at the head of her class and went into service under Captain Galahad. During this time, she met Salome and the other knights, but only Salome showed any kindness towards her. The others were cruel, some suggesting she only became Galahad's squire because she was a girl, and because she was sleeping with him (Manga, Vol 1)
When Galahad was killed in battle, Chris all but collapsed on the battlefield in anguish. Salome begged her to come to her senses as the Lizards advanced on them, but it was a very close call--she didn't lift her head until they were less than an arm's length away...and then she killed them all. Screaming to the other knights, she ordered them to "take up their swords and fight or die like dogs!" The others responded and so did their men, every putting faith in Chris as she led them off that battlefield in victory (Manga, Vol 1)
Past (during game):
Chris's role throughout the game is immense. She attends a peace negotiation at the request of the Council, but is ambushed. Fleeing to Karaya village, she sets it ablaze, and ends up killing a child (Lulu) Disgusted with herself and the massacre her men caused (hello, Borus) she returns to Brass Castle.
The Council learns of this "victory" and appoints her Captain, but gives her orders to attack the lizards just to show their strength. She does so, and rides away victorious, but again doubting the use of the knights by the Council.
After collapsing from exhaustion, she accepts an invitation from Percival to join him at a festival. The two of them ride to Iksay village where she enjoys herself and the beautiful scenery. Just as she is coming to peace with her thoughts, Nash, a Harmonian, interrupts her. She counters his seedy advances, but before long the village is attacked by the Grasslanders.
Chris, Nash, and Percival hold the enemies off as the villagers escape, but many did not live through the assault. At the windmills at the far end of the village, she has words with Jimba, who tells her to find the Flame Champion if she wants to learn about her father. Startled and disgusted, she pushes him away, and the Grasslanders retreat...just as Borus and the other knights arrive.
Borus chides Percival for bringing Chris to the "indecent" place, but she tells him that she likes it here, and to be quiet. (In the manga, Borus DECKS Percival and gives him a bloody nose) They return to Brass Castle and Chris discusses the Jimba incident with Salome.
Salome suggests that Chris should leave the Castle and search for the Flame Champion as he might hold the key to some of this war, and will also help her put to rest her questions about her father's disappearance. Hesitant to leave in the middle of a war, Chris still allows Salome to convince her to go and she thanks him for his council and friendship.
That night, Nash appears in her chambers and offers to escort her to Grassland. She doesn't trust him, but realizes she will need a guide. On the threat of death, should he lie to her, she accepts him as her escort and they escape the castle through the sewer system.
Chris travels to Grassland and learns that the "Grassies" she was taught to hate since childhood are actually very decent and likable people. She visits Duck Village where she meets Fred and Rico, and also Chisna Village where she helps push back an attack by the Harmonians. During this battle, she meets Yun, a shaman from Alma Kinan who wants Chris to visit her village.
Chris agrees to go with Yun, and she is surprised to learn that Yun was "expecting" her. She also discovers some of the unusual customs of the Alma Kinan, and tries to stop a human sacrifice that she doesn't understand. Yun comforts her, and explains that Water Rune knows her, and her father, and it will all be for the best. Still, Chris is unconvinced at the "barbaric" ritual. Yun again talks to her, and explains that this is her choice. Chris pledges her protection to the girl as a knight, and then Yun disappears into the Rune. (Manga, Vol 4)
(Assuming Hugo is Flame Champion for the rest...)
After the Harmonians attack Chisna again, Chris holds them back, allowing the Grasslanders to retreat to Duck Village. Another retreat occurs and they wind up at Brass Castle. Eventually the group unites under Hugo, the New Flame Champion and moves their base of operations to Budehuc/Lake Castle.
During the course of her stay at Budehuc, Chris acquires the True Water Rune from her father, Jimba/Wyatt. She learns why he "disappeared" but doesn't fully accept his death. She vows to protect the rune, but it is lost to The Destroyers.
Eventually, Chris confronts Sarah and takes her True Water Rune back, Luc is defeated, and the Fire Bringer part ways. Chris holds a new respect for the Grasslanders, and marches back to Brass Castle, only to hear that the Council deny any knowledge about the "unauthorized" war.
(wheew!!!)
Present:
Chris has fled Zexen with her knights after learning of the Council's intentions of making an alliance with Harmonia. She is on her way to the Grasslands to assist in keeping her countrymen from becoming Third Class Citizens.
Allegiance: Chris is loyal to Zexen, but not to the Council. She sees them as a bunch of greedy old men who use the knights as pawns in their own bizarre games. She will fight for her people and for those she aligns herself with.
Special abilities: She can't act, she can't sing, but she can throw tables at Lilly!
Weaknesses:
As Lucia told Chris at the end of the game, she would need to learn to show weakness along with her strength. Chris's biggest weakness is not knowing how to show it, and being afraid of her emotions, lest her men think any less of her for doing so.
